On June 7th 2012, Seasoned Pro facilitated the visit of Manchester City Football Club captain, Vincent Kompany, to Taarana, a school for children with special educational needs.

During the visit to the school grounds in Taman Overseas Union Garden, Kompany held a football clinic with the children, aged between six and twelve, who face challenges with delayed development in academic, social and adaptive skills, also known as Mild Intellectual Disability (MID).

At a press conference later, the centre half said: “I love kids. I have a two-year-old daughter of my own, so I am always happy to spend time with children, especially those at Taarana."

"I genuinely enjoyed today as it is one of the things I like to do in the time I have after football and is also an important part of my life for me as well as I get to be closer to the fans."

"I have a lot of respect for the set-up and great people here who have put so much dedication into this place. There really should be more initiatives like this around the world.

"Kompany also posed alongside fans and the Marussia F1 Team show car which was raced in the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. QNET, which is a Marussia F1 Team sponsor had displayed the car at Taraana to spark the children’s interest in F1.
